Gentile and his wife, Claudia of Newton, his sister, Josephine Mancini of Newton and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Angela and Ashley. Gentile is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie L. He enjoyed playing the piano, his computer and spending time with his grandchildren. ![]() He retired from MIT in 1996 after 30 years of employment as a computer analyst and programmer.Ī devout Catholic, he was known for his sense of humor. Gentile entered the Air Force in 1961 and served as an Airman First Class at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. The son of the late Marco and Nancy (Salvucci) Gentile, he was born, raised and educated in Nonatum section of the City of Newton and had resided in Watertown for several years until moving to Waltham in 1976. Of Waltham, died Tuesday evening, September 20th, at the Newton Wellesley Hospital after a sudden illness. ![]()
